When properly cared for, traditional masonry construction can perform well for hundreds of years, and with that in mind we approach historic masonry with an appreciation for the original craftsmanship and materials. We are committed to using traditional materials and techniques in restoration and conservation, such as historically accurate lime mortars, lime renders and stuccos, and breathable stone repair materials. We approach every project with the goal of extending the useful life of the building while maintaining its integrity.
We apply this principle in several important ways:
-We only install repair and replacement materials that are compatible with the original.
-We retain as much building fabric as possible by repairing and replacing only as necessary.
-We make ourselves available as a resource to our clients, and we work with them to develop ongoing maintenance programs and to identify potential issues before they become costly repair items. |
