We removed the paint on the exterior brick masonry on all four elevations. We completed this work with the use of a non-abrasive, commercial chemical paint stripper. Test results confirmed the presence of lead in the paint, so we carefully controlled all water and chemical runoff, and we disposed of the waste in compliance with environmental regulations.
After the stripping process was completed, the brick elevation was cleaned in accordance with National Park Service Preservation Briefs #1.
